Luxury handmade solid sterling silver pendant embellished with a rune symbol from the Viking Elder Futhark runic alphabet, and set with a fabulous labradorite gemstone - so called because the Canadian province of Labrador is the classic locality of this gemstone.

The highly polished sterling silver pendant is hand sawn into an elongated egg shape. I've set the labradorite cabochon into a handmade bezel style setting to embrace the gemstone, and the pendant is suspended from a luxurious, smooth, snake chain with a secure lobster clasp.

A unique addition to any jewellery collection, this necklace is a true statement piece.

  • Labradorite is a very special gemstone - the high quality pieces, like this one, display a beautiful irridescent play of colours, which move as the stone is rotated

  • There's an almost ethereal feel to this labradorite - the colours vary from lemon yellows through fern greens and sky blue

Inspired by the Viking Elder Futhark runic alphabet, the design is embellished with a stylised runic symbol and the symbol featured on this pendant is:

  • Fe (Fehu) - believed to symbolise abundance, luck, financial strength, success, happiness, fertility, energy, wealth

  • This necklace is the perfect gift for someone who is trying for a baby or job hunting

Native  Americans  called  this  gem  ‘Firestone’  because  they  loved  the  way  the  light captured inside the stone looked as if it was dancing with fire.

Labradorite gemstones usually have a dark base colour with metallic-looking colour plays of blue, green, yellow, and red. This irridescent effect is commonly known as labradorescence - named after this stone.

A cabochon is a gemstone cut which gives a flat back and a lovely rounded, smooth front.
